What is IC++ Pricing?

IC++ stands for Interchange + Scheme Fee + Markup. It's one of the most transparent and fair ways to price card transactions — and it’s the model we use at NoPayn to ensure you always know what you're paying for.

Rather than hiding fees in a fixed percentage, IC++ breaks them into three simple parts:

🧩 The Three Parts of IC++ Pricing

  1. Interchange Fee (IC)
    • This is the fee paid to the cardholder’s bank (the issuer).
    • It’s set by the card networks (like Visa, Mastercard) and varies depending on card type, country, and payment method (e.g., in-store vs online).
    • Example: 0.30% for a standard consumer Visa debit card issued in the EU.
  2. Scheme Fee (+)
    • This goes to the card scheme (e.g., Visa or Mastercard) for processing the transaction.
    • Example: 0.10%
  3. Markup (++)
    • This is what NoPayn and our acquiring partners charge for handling the payment and offering support. It’s our revenue — and it’s fixed and transparent.
    • Example: 1%

📦 Real Example

Let’s say a customer pays €100 using a European Visa Debit card.

Component Amount (EUR) Explanation
Interchange Fee €0.30 Goes to the cardholder’s bank
Scheme Fee €0.10 Goes to Visa
Markup (NoPayn Fee) €1.00 Our fee for processing and support
Total Fee €1.40 Transparent and predictable

That’s it — no hidden % margins, no surprise deductions.

💬 Why Merchants Prefer IC++

  • Transparent: You see exactly where your money goes
  • Fair: The bank and scheme costs are passed through with transparent markup
  • Consistent: Our markup is fixed, no matter the transaction amount
  • Scalable: As your business grows, you benefit from lower effective rates

🌱 How NoPayn Makes It Even Better

At NoPayn, we don’t just pass on IC++ — we build frictionless payment flows and climate-positive impact right into your pricing. Every transaction plants trees, and our support is just a message away.

💭 Final Thought

If IC++ sounds a bit technical, don’t worry — we’re always here to explain it in plain language. Whether you’re new to payments or switching from another provider, you deserve pricing that makes sense and works for you, not against you.
